Stony Point Trounces Leander

Leander quarterback William Loofe may miss his first class tomorrow.  He might miss the entire day.  The Stony Point defense ran rough shod over Leander and Loofe bore the brunt.

Leander entered the game the definite underdog, but they held their own.  For the first six minutes.  After which they could not withstand the Stony Point onslaught.

Stony Point drew first blood on a 5-yard run touch down run by Donovan Rybachek.  Leander took a deep breath, and got it done when William Loofe connected with La’Tavaius Brown on a 30-yard touch down pass.  However, Stony Point was too much for Leander.   The Tigers put up 28 unanswered points on two rushing touchdowns, each, by Tyler Cleveland and Donovan Rybachek.

Leander found the end zone in the third quarter on a 12-yard pass from William Loofe to Dalton Flowers.  Stony Point closed the game with two passing touchdowns.  Donovan Rybachek connected with Tyler O’Bannon on a 18-yard pass, and Zach Rangel found Trae Edwards on a scoring 20-yard pass.

Stony Point held Leander to only 233 total yard, and accumulated nearly twice that amount.  Leander average only 1.3 yards per carry, compared to 5.1 yard per carry
by Stony Point.  Leander quarterback William Loofe rushed for -17 yard, the result of numerous sacks and broken plays.

Final Score:  Leander 14, Stony Point 49.   This was Stony Point’s first win in four outings.  Leander remains winless.
