But this game was anything put routine. It was a tightly fought defensive battle that featured a dramatic come from behind victory.
Zach Sanford of San Antonio scored the first goal of the game, but not until 19:31 of the second period. Texas had a chance to tie at 0:42 in the third period on a penalty shot by Roope Hintz, but Spencer Martin deftly defended the attempt. Denis Gurianov of Texas did tie the game at 5:45, and Sheldon Dries scored the go-ahead goal for the Stars at 9:03 of the final frame. Final score was Austin 2, San Antonio 1.
