Marquez, Miller Dominate MotoGP Day 1

Marc Marquez’s (Repsol Honda Team) dominance of the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) continued in free practice 1.  Marquez, the six-time winner at COTA, edged Jack Miller (Ducati Lenovo Team) by 0.167 sec under drying track conditions.  Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) rounded out the top-three, trailing by 0.599 sec.

Marquez’ control extended into free practice 2, edging Miller by the slightest of margins (0.015 sec).  Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) worked the third fastest time of the day, after falling as low a tenth. 

Following the top behind the top three riders is Pol Espargaro (Repsol Honda Team), recording good times under both wet and dry conditions at COTA.  Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda Idemitsu) finished the day in the fifth position, almost a half-second off the pace.
