US Grand Prix Free Practice 3 Wrap-up: Perez Tops Final Practice

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez logged the fastest official lap time in Free Practice #3 at the US Grand Prix, but only after faster times by Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) were voided.  Peres has led the last two practice sessions at the Circuit of the Americas.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz followed 0.104 seconds behind Perez with Verstappen trailing by 0.211 seconds. Verstappen’s fastest lap of 1:34.383 second was negated after exceeding track limits at Turn 19. 

McLaren’s Lando Norris recorded the fourth fastest time in the session, followed by Mercedes Valtteri Bottas.

Lewis Hamilton recorded the second fastest lap of the afternoon (1:34.458 second) but the time was voided for exceeding track limits at Turn 9.  Hamilton settled for P6. 

McClaren’s Daniel Ricciardo claimed P7 while Alpha Tauri’s Pierre Gasly earned P8. 

Charles LeClerc (Ferrari) and Alpine’s Esteban Ocon rounded out the top ten times for the session.
