Austin FC Overpowers Vancouver Whitecaps

Austin FC dominated the Vancouver Whitecaps in route to a 3-0 victory, recapturing first place in the MLS Western Conference. 

Maxi Urruti’s first half brace led Austin over Vancouver.   Sebastian Driussi’s goal early in the second half iced the game for the home team.   Driussi also assisted on Urruti’s first goal. 

Urruti wasted no time, finding the back of the net in the 11th minute of the match.  He completed the brace in the 26th minute.  Urruti made 5 of the team’s 10 shots 

The Verde and Black played like a cohesive unit, controlling the ball for two-thirds of the match, out-passing the Whitecap better than two-to-one (658 to 302), and competing 88% of those passes. 

Brad Stuver posted his third clean sheet of the season, facing 12 shots from the Whitecaps, 1 on-target. 

Austin improves its home record to 8-1-1 in the last 10 games, dating to last season.
