Texas Women’s Basketball Make Ready

TTL Sports Media caught an early glimpse of the University of Texas women’s basketball team as they participated in pre-season conditioning exercises in the Bubble at Frank Denius Fields.  These conditioning exercises were not practices, which are closely regulated by the NCAA. 

Last season Texas went 26-10, with a 14-4 record in conference play, earning them the Big 12 regular season championship. The regular season conference title was the first for Texas since the 2003-04 season and 13th overall regular season conference championship. 

The Longhorns return all but one player from the 2022-23 team, representing 88% of their scoring and 94% of their rebounding.  Rori Harmon was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American for the second straight season.  DeYona Gaston was a First Team All-Big 12 selection.  Shaylee Gonzales, who passed 2,000 career points was named the 2022 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.  Amina Muhammad earned a spot on the 2022 Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
