Express Stop Aviators, Remain Atop PCL

The Round Rock Express defeated the Las Vegas Aviators by a score of 5-to-1 to split the six-game series. The Express hold a 1.0-game lead in the Pacific Coast League second half standing as they travel to Tacoma for the final series of the season. 

Express starting pitcher Zak Kent allowed one run on five hits in three innings of work.  Relief pitcher Justin Slaten earned the win with two scoreless innings on the mound.  The Express sent four additional pitchers in the effort. 

Aviator starting pitcher Zach Neal went home with the loss.  Neal gave up three runs on six hits in 3.2 innings of work. 

Las Vegas scored their only run of the game in the first inning with Jonah Bride’s single to right field, scoring Tyler Wade. 

Round Rock evened the score in the third inning when Elier Hernandez scored from second base on Blaine Crim’s line drive single to right field.  

The Express claimed the lead on Sandro Fabian blast over the left field wall, scoring Dustin Harris.  Harris reached base on a walk and stole second. 

Harris tallied an RBI in the seventh inning with a line drive single to center field, bring home Blaine Crim.  Crim drew a walk, and advanced to second base on Jax Biggers’ single.  Biggers later scored on Fabian’s sacrifice fly to deep center field. 

Fabian led all hitters, going 2-for-3, driving home three runs, and scoring one.  Tyler Wade led the Aviators with three hits in five appearances at the plate.
