Bobcats Turn Out the Lights at Karbach Classic

The Texas State Bobcats put up nine runs in the sixth inning to handily defeat the Washington State Cougars, 13-to-4, in the final game of the Karbarch Round Rock Classic.  The nine-run inning set a Karbach record for the most runs scored in a half inning. 

Ryne Farber led Texas State offensively with three hits in five appearances, driving home four runs and scoring once.  Alec Patino when 2-for-4 at the plate, producing two runs and scoring once.  Cameron Thompson and Davis Powell each hit for a double. 

The Bobcats used six pitchers in the effort.  Starting pitcher Peyton Zabel allowed two runs on three hits and walking three batters in one inning of effort.  Relief pitcher Taylor Seay was awarded the win for closing out the sixth inning with not runs nor hits.  Sam Hall was awarded the save striking out four batter and allowing no run, hits or walks in three innings. 

Washington State starter Spencer Jones when five innings, allowing three runs on four hits for no decision.  Jones was relieved by Rylan Haider who gave up two runs on two hits without retiring a batter.  Haider was assigned the loss. 

Casen Taggart led the Cougars in the batter’s box, going 2-for-3, driving home three runs, and crossing the plate once.  Cole Cramer went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
