Round Express Introduce 2024 Roster on Media Day

The Round Rock Express, in conjunction with the World Series Champion Texas Rangers, announced the club’s preliminary roster on Wednesday at their annual media day.

Twenty-one of 30 players on the preliminary roser which have previously played with the Express:  RHP Grant Anderson, INF Jax Biggers, INF Blaine Crim, Church, LHP Danny Duffy, OF Sandro Fabian, INF Justin Foscue, OF Dustin Harris, OF Elier Hernandez, C Sam Huff, LHP Antoine Kelly, RHP Jack Leiter, INF Jonathan Ornelas, RHP Daniel Robert, RHP Adrian Sampson, RHP Jesus Tinoco, INF Davis Wendzel, C Matt Whatley, RHP Owen White, and RHP Cole Winn.

Returning from last season are ten of the 15 position players and eight of the 15.  Additionally, six of the nine players on the 2024 Opening Day roster appeared in the 2023 Opening Day lineup. 

The club features six of the top 30 prospects in the Texas Rangers organization, according to MLB.com, led by INF Justin Foscue (No. 5), RHP Jack Leiter (No. 8), RHP Owen White (No. 10), OF Dustin Harris (No. 11),  LHP Antoine Kelly (No. 22) and RHP Marc Church (No. 23).

Thirteen of the 30 players have seen Major League playing time, including eight of the 14 pitchers on the staff, RHP Grant Anderson (Rangers), INF Matt Duffy (Royals), RHP Shane Greene (Yankees, Tigers, Braves, Dodgers, Cubs), RHP Austin Pruitt (Tampa Bay, Houston, Miami, Oakland), RHP Adrian Sampson (Mariners, Rangers, Cubs), LHP Chasen Shreve (Braves, Yankees, Cardinals, Mets, Pirates, Tigers, Reds), LHP Blake Taylor (Astros), RHP Jesus Tinoco (Rockies, Rangers) and RHP Owen White (Rangers).
