Pitching Carriers Texas Over TCU

A rare pitching duel broke-out between the University of Texas Longhorns (24-17) and the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs (23-15).  Texas prevailed, holding TCU to three hits, in a 2-to-1 victory.

Texas was led by Texas starting pitcher Lebarron Johnson Jr. (2-3), who held TCU to one run on three hits in 6.1 innings of work.  TCU’s only run scored on a wild pitch by Johnson.  Gage Boehm provided 2.2 innings of hitless, scoreless relief.

TCU starting pitcher Mason Bixby suffered the loss, allowing two runs on two hits, walked three and struck-out two in 1.1 innings.  Kole Klecker, Zachary Cawyer and Ben Adeldt combined to hold the Longhorns to no runs nor hits for the remainder of the contest.

Texas’s run came on Casey Borba’s second inning double, scoring Rylan Galvan and Kimble Schuessler.
