Ninth Inning Rally Puts Aviators over Express

The Las Vegas Aviators (18-21) put-up four unanswered runs in the ninth inning to defeated the Round Rock Express (21-17) by a final score of 6-to-3.  Relief pitcher Reid Birlingmair was tagged for the loss, retiring one batter in the final frame while allowing four runs. 

Birlingmair took up relief in the ninth inning from Grant Wolfram.  Wolfram threw two scoreless, hitless innings, taking over for starting pitcher Peter Solomon.  Birlingmair faced six batters, yielded a walk, single, double, intentional walk, sacrifice fly, a hit batsman, and loaded the bases, twice, before being relieved. 

Triston Polley relieved Birlingmair and retired the side, but only after seeing three runs scored on a fielding error and a sacrifice fly.  The runs were charged to Birlingmair. 

The big bats for Reno included former Express catcher Yohel Pozo, with a double and driving home two runs. Daz Cameron and Ryan Noda each claimed two hits, an RBI and scored twice. 

Round Rock was lead offensively by Jax Bigger with two hits in three appearance and an RBI, and Sam Huff with two hits in five appearances. 

Dany Jimenez claimed the win for Las Vegas, closing out a hitless final frame.
