Rainiers Continue to Roll Over Express
June 16, 2024The Tacoma Rainier’s (39-30) dominance continued over the Round Express (33-35), winning the final game of their series by a final score of 13-to-3 and taking the series five games to one.
Rainier starting pitcher Jhonathan Diaz (8-1) earned the win, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits, walking six and striking out two batters. Relief pitchers Matt Bowman, Trevor Kelley and Brett de Geus combined for three scoreless innings to secure the win.
Express starting pitcher Adrian Sampson endured the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits in 2. 1 innings. He struck out three and walked one batter. In total, Round Rock yielded 20 hits, eight walks and two home runs in the loss.
Tacoma was led offensively by Jason Vosler, going 4-for-6, including a home run, driving in five runs and scoring three times. Spencer Packard went 5-for-6 at the plate, with two RBIs and two runs.
Josh Jung, in his first rehab appearance, led the Express at the plate with two hits in three appearances with a run batted in. Blaine Crim drove home two runs on one hit.
