El Paso Book-end Express with Massive Innings

The El Paso Chihuahuas (32-44) opened with a six-run first inning, and closed with a five-run ninth inning to defeat the Round Rock Express (37-38) by a final score of 15-to-9. 

El Paso starting pitcher Jackson Wolf went 4.1 innings, allowing five runs on six hits, for no decision.  Relief pitcher Lake Bachar (5-0) earned with win, allowing no hits or walks, and striking out three batters in 1.1 innings on the mound. 

Round Rock starter Johnny Cueto allowed seven runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings before handing the game over to Yerry Rodriguez.  Rodriguez (1-4) went home with the loss after allowing two runs on three hits and retiring one batter. 

The Chihuahuas were led offensively by Tirso Ornelas and Cal Mitchell, each notching first inning home runs against Cueto.  Ornelas finished the game with five RBIs on one hit in four appearances.  Mitchell went 2-for-4 with four RBIs.  Designated hitter Oscar Mercado was 4-for-6 at the plate with two RBIs. 

Derek Hill led the Express at the plate with three hits in three appearances.  Sandro Fabian and Blaine Crim each drove home three runs. Fabian was 2-for-3 at the plate.
