Isotopes Even Series, Drubbing Express
August 14, 2024The Albuquerque Isotopes (45-71) bounced back from their series opening loss to drub the Round Rock Express (56-58) by a final score of 15-to-2. The Isotopes never let up, adding seven runs to a seven-run lead in the ninth inning.
The Isotopes used six pitchers in the effort, scattering two runs across eight hits in nine innings of work. Starting pitcher Ty Blach was perfect in three innings on the mound, allowing no runs nor hits. First relief pitcher Chance Adams was assigned the win, pitching two perfect innings including three strike outs.
Chase Anderson, having recently joined the Express from the Boston Red Sox, suffered the loss. Anderson gave up three runs on four hits, including two home runs, in 1.2 innings on the mound. Round Rock used five relief pitchers in the game.
Albuquerque hitters overwhelmed the Express pitcher, belting out a total of five four-baggers.
Willie MacIver led the onslaught, dishing our two round trippers and going 3-for-5 for three runs batted in and three runs scored. Jimmy Herron led all batters with four hits, including one home run, for three runs and three RBIs. Nolan Jones also homered and went 3-for-6 in the batter’s box.
Jax Biggers plated both Express runs. The first run came on seventh inning single, the bringing home Sam Huff. He later scored Sandro Fabian on a single in the ninth.
