Express Take Isotope in Explosive Series Finale
August 18, 2024The Round Rock Express (59-59) walloped the Albuquerque Isotopes (46-74) by a final score of 16-to-5, winning the series four games to two. It was the second consecutive double-digit victory by the Express over the Isotopes.
Express relief pitcher Peter Solomon earned the win, holding the Isotopes scoreless and allowing only one hit in three innings of work. He struck out three batters and walked one.
Isotope starting pitcher Peyton Battenfield took home the loss, allowing seven runs on ten hits in 2.2 innings on the mound. He struck out two and walked one batter.
All Round Rock starters reached base. Four notched three hits and two more tallied two hits. Jax Biggers posted a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs, one walk and one run scored. Kellan Strahm knocked in four RBIs, Dustin Harris added three and both Blaine Crim and Jonathan Ornelas brought home two runs.
Sixteen runs are the most that the Express has scored in a game this season.
Willie MacIver led Albuquerque with three hits in five appearances, bringing in two runs.
