Mustang Challenge Thrills at Lone Star Le Mans

The IMSA Mustang Challenge put on a thrilling display of racing at the Lone Star Le Mans on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the Circuit of the Americas. The event featured intense competition, close battles, and plenty of drama as drivers fought for victory in the challenging Texas heat.

In the Dark Horse class, Robert Noaker in the #13 car for Robert Noaker Racing emerged as the champion, driving a flawless race and holding off a determined field of competitors. Jeremy Fletcher (#22 McCumbee McAlleer Racig) and Trenton Estep (#16 MDK Motosports LLC) rounded out the podium, showcasing their skill and endurance throughout the grueling event.

Commenting on the win Noaker said, “The close racing was just so much fun, and it’s entertaining to the fans. The last couple of laps we experienced some issues and we were just trying to hold on to the end. Luckily, we did.”

The Dark Horse Legend class was equally competitive, with Zachry Lee in the #48 car for McCumbee McLeer Racing claiming the top spot after a thrilling battle with #33 Alex Bachoura of Spark Performance.  Mike Stillwagon (#19 Skip Barber Racing) completed the podium, adding to the excitement of the class.

Reflecting on the win Lee said, “It’s really awesome and takes a lot of pressure off heading into the final races. I think I’ll be able to perform much better without any of that pressure, and the two wins were especially nice at home.”
