Texas State Easily Handles Arkansas State
October 12, 2024The Texas State Bobcats put-up nearly 600 yards of offense, while holding the Arkansas State Red Wolves to three field goals, in route to a 41-9 victory. Texas State improves their record to 4-2, 2-0 in conference. Their two loses were by a combined four points.
Texas State was led by quarterback Jordan McCloud, throwing for 325 yards (25-for-30) with four touchdowns, and a fifth on the ground.
McCloud’s favorite target was Joey Hobert, making ten receptions for 101 yards with two TDs. Kole Wilson pulled down two passes for 68 yard and one TD. Jaden Williams accounted for one touchdown, making two catches for 35 yards.
Bobcat running back led the ground attack with 164 yards, averaging nearly ten yards per touch. Deion Hankins added 30 yards on six touches.
The Red Wolve offensive was moderately successful, producing nearly 400 total yards, but was kept out of the end zone by the Bobcats.
Arkansas State quarterback Jaylen Raynor completed 24 of 38 attempts for 207 yards, but was intercepted once and sacked three times. Running back Ja’Quez Cross ran for 117 yards on nine carries, but 49 of those yards came on a single touch.
The sole point scorer for the Red Wolves was place kicker Clune Van Andel with three field goals, all in the first half.
