Express Steal Thrilling Walk-Off Victory Against Aviators

The Round Rock Express (14-10) continued their dominant performance against the league-leading Las Vegas Aviators (14-10) Wednesday night, securing a dramatic 7-6 walk-off victory in ten innings. This marks the third consecutive win for the Express in their current six-game series at Dell Diamond.

Las Vegas drew first blood in the top of the third, capitalizing on doubles from Max Muncy and Colby Thomas to take a 1-0 lead. The Aviators added another run in the fifth when Thomas drove in his second RBI of the evening with a single, extending their advantage to 2-0 against Express starter Dane Dunning, who impressively struck out the side in the fourth.

Round Rock’s offense finally broke through in the bottom of the fifth. Sam Haggerty sparked the rally with a triple, and Jonathan Ornelas promptly drove him in with a single. With two outs, Evan Carter electrified the crowd, launching a 383-foot, two-run home run, giving the Express a 4-2 lead.

Las Vegas chipped away at the lead in the seventh, with Muncy notching his second double and Logan Davidson driving him in. The ninth inning saw late-game drama as the Aviators loaded the bases and scored two runs on bases-loaded walks, snatching a 5-4 lead.

However, the Express showed their resilience. Haggerty walked to lead off the bottom of the ninth, and Ornelas delivered his second RBI single of the night, tying the score at 5-5 and sending the game into extra innings.

In the tenth, Davidson once again drove in Muncy, who started the inning on second base, giving Las Vegas a 6-5 edge. But the Express had the final say. With a runner starting on second, Round Rock rallied, scoring two runs to secure a thrilling 7-6 walk-off victory, sending the home crowd into a frenzy. The Express look to continue their winning streak in the remaining three games of the series.
