Express Dominate Rainiers Again in 8-1 Rout
June 26, 2025The Round Rock Express continued their dominant form on Thursday night, mirroring their previous outing with another decisive 8-1 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers. This win gives the Express a commanding series lead, having outscored the Rainiers 24-10 through the first three games.
Starting pitcher Patrick Murphy set the tone for Round Rock, delivering three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and striking out one. The bullpen picked up right where he left off, with Aiden Anderson earning his first Triple-A win after a stellar two innings of hitless, scoreless relief. Anderson has been a reliable arm this season, boasting an impressive two hits allowed and three strikeouts in his two appearances for Round Rock. Codi Heuer closed out the game with a scoreless ninth, sealing the Express’s comfortable win.
Tacoma’s starter, Casey Lawrence, took the loss, surrendering five runs on eight hits over five and one-third innings.
The Express offense ignited in the second inning when Trevor Hauver singled, followed by Alan Trejo’s two-run blast, his second homer in as many days. Alex De Goti then drove in Billy McKinney, giving Round Rock an early 3-0 lead.
Round Rock extended their advantage in the sixth with Trejo’s RBI double and an RBI single from Cooper Johnson, pushing the score to 5-0. Tacoma finally got on the board in the seventh with an RBI single from Blake Hunt. However, the Express quickly answered in the bottom of the frame, with pinch-hitter Cody Freeman delivering a two-run single and Blaine Crim scoring on a throwing error, bringing the final tally to 8-1.
Alan Trejo was the offensive star of the night for Round Rock, going 2-for-4 with two extra-base hits, three RBI, and two runs scored.
