Bees Lift Win from Express in Round Two
August 27, 2025The Salt Lake Bees mounted a determined comeback against the Round Rock Express on Wednesday night, turning a four-run deficit into a 7-5 victory to claim the first two games of the series.
The Express jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Justin Foscue’s sacrifice fly in the first put Round Rock up 1-0. In the second, an RBI double from Billy McKinney and an RBI single from Cooper Johnson made it 3-0. Round Rock tacked on another run in the third on a sacrifice fly from Trevor Hauver, and the Express looked to be in control.
But the Bees began to chip away at the lead. In the fourth, back-to-back RBI singles from Chad Stevens and Cavan Biggio cut the lead in half. Chad Wallach brought home another run on a groundout, making it a 4-3 game.
The comeback continued in the fifth when Nelson Rada scored on a balk to tie the game. Salt Lake took its first lead in the sixth on a go-ahead triple from Wallach, followed by a groundout from Tucker Flint to score Wallach.
Hauver kept it close with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to make it a one-run game. The Bees added an insurance run in the ninth with a solo home run from Flint. Jared Southard closed the door for Salt Lake in the ninth, securing the save and the 7-5 victory.
Salt Lake starting pitcher Sammy Peralta earned the win, while Round Rock’s Robby Ahlstrom took the loss. Express outfielder Dustin Harris extended his hitting streak to 10 games, going 3-for-5 with two doubles.
