Rookie Fernandez Controls Day 1 Moto2

Raul Fernandez (Red Bull KTM Ajo), the rookie rider from Spain, took the top spot in Moto2 free practice 1 at the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas at the Circuit of the Americas.  Fernandez beat Bo Bendsnyder Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team)  by 0.197 seconds

Fernandez’ control extended into free practice  2, under dry conditions.  The rookie dominated the practice, leading Sam Lowes (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team)  by up to 0.7 sec.  Lowes wrestled control with 10 minutes remaining in the practice before Fernandez fought back, overtaking both Lowes and Remy Gardner (Red Bull KTM Ajo).
