Arkansas State Upsets Louisiana in Sun Belt Championship

The bottom seeded Arkansas State Red Wolves upset the fifth seeded Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championship.  The Red Wolves came from behind to win 20-25, 21-25, 25-12, 25,20 and 15-7. 

Arkansas State controlled the match in kills (70 to 56), aces (9 to 5) and assists (64 to 53). Arkansas State converted on 33% kills in the final three sets compared only 11% by Louisiana. 

Paulina Sobolewska led the Red Wolves with 18 kills (28%) and Madison Brown recorded 16 kills (34%). Josie Stanford notched 3 aces and 5 blocked shots. Malgorzata Andersohn added 31 assists with 12 digs.  Hannah Cox led the Arkansas State with 25 digs. 

Hali Wisnoskie led Louisiana with 19 kills (27%).  Avery Breaux contributed 43 assists and 16 digs.  Hannah Ramirez tallied 25 digs. 

Arkansas State plays fourth seeded Troy University in the second round of the Championship.
