Colorado Springs Sky Sox shut down Round Rock Express

The Round Rock Express were downed by the Colorado Springs Sky Sox by a score of 6-0 on Sunday.  The Express were held to just 3 hits.  Winning pitcher Josh Hader went 6 innings, allowing only 2 hits, and striking out 12.  This was Hader’s first career
win in AAA ball.

The Express’s only hint of an offense came from Matt Duffy (2-for-4) and a double by Carlos Gomez.  This was Gomez’s first game for the Ranger’s organization,  having been recently dropped by the Houston Astros.  Gomez is expected to join the Rangers in September.

Defensively the Express’s performance was mixed.  The team barely missed to plays at the plate,
but turned two double plays and caught Eric Young, Jr. in a run down between first and second base.

The Express play two more against Colorado Springs and then travel to New Orleans and Omaha.  They close out the season against Memphis over Labor weekend.
