Kubitza claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves

Congratulations to former Round Rock Express infielder / outfielder Kyle Kubitza on his return to the Atlanta Braves.  Atlanta claimed Kubitza off waivers on August 12, 2016.  Atlanta, in the fourth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, originally selected Kubitza.   He played college baseball at Texas State University for the Bobcats.  He hit .328 with 27 home runs during his college career.

Kubitza joined the Texas Rangers organization on June 21, 2016 when he was picked up from Los Angeles for cash.  He then designated to the Round Rock Express.

While with the Express, Kubitza was part of the “everyone plays everywhere” platoon.  Kubitza, a third baseman, spend most of his time playing the outfield.  In 44 games Kubitza batted a modest .182, with 4 home runs and an on-base-percentage of .290.

Good luck to Kyle as he returns to his Major League roots!
