Legends top Spurs, capitalize on inconsistent Play

Basketball is a very cruel mistress.  You must be attentive for four entire quarters or she will turn on you.  The Austin Spurs failed to give complete attention and lost a game they could have won.

Playing a much stronger Texas Legend team on Wednesday, the Spurs came out strong and more than held their own in the opening 12 minutes.  The Spurs match the Legend point for point in the first quarter, putting up 32 points and started very strong.  But after leading for 50 seconds in the second quarter, it was over.

The team appeared to exist only to feed San Antonio Spurs assignee, Bryn Forbes, with opportunities.  Forbes finished the night with 35 points, hitting 65% of field goals and 29% of three points.  Newcomer Daniel Nwaelele recorded a healthy performance with 20 points.  Cory Jefferson, Jeff Ledbetter and Charles Garcia also scored in double digits.

Final score was Texas Legends 130, Austin Spurs 125.
