McNeil upsets Westwood in overtime

Westwood High entered Thursday’s game the strong favorite over McNeil High.  And that looked to be the case through the first quarter, as Westwood took a 14-0 lead on a 68-yard touchdown pass from Will Jennings to Te’shon McGinnis, and a 10-yard touchdown run by Te’shon McGinnis. 

But McNeil controlled the middle quarters of the game.  Scoring started, and ended, for McNeil on
Simon Rudd field goals.  Touchdown runs of 24-yards and 15-yards by Chris Dunn gave McNeil a 17-14 lead at the half.  McNeil continued to control the game in the third quarter with a 29-yard touchdown pass from Parker McNeil to Jordan Kerley. 

Westwood fought back in the fourth quarter with a 6-yard touchdown run by Te’shon McGinnis, and a 29-yard field goal by Kaeden Roberts to tie the game.  McNeil won in overtime on a Simon Rudd field goal.  McNeil is 3 and 4 on the year, and Westwood falls to 4 and 2.
