Physical McNeil overpowers Austin

You could visually see the game was going to be lopsided as the teams ran on to the field from their inflatable tunnels.  The physically larger McNeil Mavericks loomed over the smaller Austin Maroons, which set the tone for the entire game.  The spirited Maroons fought hard, but the Mavericks put the first, then second, and then third score on the board, as they held the Maroons scoreless in the first half.  The McNeil defense crushed the Austin offensive line, eventually sending Maroon starting quarterback Edward Garcia out of the game by way of injury.  McNeil added a crushing blow in the third quarter when Justin Hernandez took a kickoff return 85-yards for a touchdown.  McNeil fought hard, played fair, and showed no mercy on Austin until later in the game when then played underclassman.  Final score: McNeil Mavericks 44, Austin Maroons 14.
