Rebuild continues, second team starts, Texas State football falls to Troy

Coach Everett Withers continued the rebuilding process by starting underclassman against the Troy Trojans.  Withers knew what the team facing against the Trojans (9-2, 6-1 Sun Belt), but felt it was more important to give the second tier roster early exposure to next fall.  Texas State entered the game at 2-8, 0-6 Sun Belt. 

Troy scored 37 unanswered points until Stedman Mayberry pushed it through on a 10 yard run.  The extra point by Marcus Ripley concluded a10 play, 72 yards effort that brought the score to 37-to-7 in favor of Troy.  Final score was 40-to-7, Troy. 

Texas State concludes the season next Saturday against Sun Belt leader Arkansas State at Bobcat Stadium for Senior Day.
