Stars snap slump, tap Monsters for win

The Texas Stars played the Cleveland Monster before a crowd of 5000 fans at the HEB Center on Friday.  The Stars started the scoring on a goal at 3:04 in the first period by Remi Elie.  The  Monsters evened the score, and then took a lead into the locker room to close the first.  It was all Texas after that.  Patrik Nemeth tied the score with a short-handed goal, the only score in the second period.  Goals by Jason Dickinson and Matej Stransky in the final period sealed the win for the Stars.  Stars goalkeeper Maxime Lagace contributed a solid performance, stopping 23 of 25 shots on goal.  Texas did magnificent killing penalties, playing shorthanded for 10 minutes and not allowing a score.
