Texas Stars shutout by San Diego Gulls

The Texas Stars disappointed greater than 6500 fans on Thursday as they fell to the San Diego Gull.  Official credit is given to San Diego Gulls rookie goalkeeper Kevin Boyle who stopped a perfect 26 shots on goal, leading to a 4-0 win.  However, the Gulls did not win this game, the Stars lost it.  From the opening puck drop to the final horn, the Stars lacked energy, generating an anemic 22 shots on goal.  Stars failed to convert on three power plays, while being held to a man dis-advantage only once.  The absence of penalties by the Star is indicative only of an absence of drive.
